FAQs

Is THC legal in Pennsylvania?

Hemp-derived THC products are federally legal under the 2018 Farm Bill when they contain no more than 0.3% delta-9 THC by dry weight, and Pennsylvania follows that federal definition. Everything intoxicating at Hippie & French is hemp-derived, lab tested, and sold only to adults 21 and over.

What is hemp-derived THC?

It is THC that comes from the hemp plant instead of marijuana. The experience is similar; the legal category is different, which is why we can sell it in Pittsburgh outside of a dispensary.

Will hemp-derived THC show up on a drug test?

Yes. Drug tests look for THC metabolites and do not distinguish hemp THC from marijuana. If you are subject to testing, skip THC products entirely.

How fast do THC drinks kick in?

Most people feel a THC beverage in about 15 to 30 minutes, noticeably faster than a traditional edible, because liquids absorb sooner. Effects typically last 2 to 4 hours.

How do THC drinks compare to alcohol?

You get the social lift without the alcohol and without the hangover, and the dose is printed on every can and bottle, so pacing is much easier than pouring liquor.

What dose should I start with?

If you are new to THC drinks, start with 2.5 to 5mg and wait before having more. Micro-dose options exist for exactly that first step.
